In BACH CHORALE
1. The largest distance between Soprano and Alto/Alto and Tenor shouldn't be more than a perfect octave. Only Tenor and Bass can be wider than an octave. 2. Part writing error when 2 parts move in parallel motion and remain in perfect 5ths or 8ves. 3. Always prepare and resolve a suspension (introduce the dissonance first as a consonance in the same voice part, and resolve it in the same part too) 4. one chord per beat (remember that minims in soprano need 2 chords or a change of inversion) 5. Appropriate dissonances: i) Suspensions ii) Secondary 7ths (e.g. ii7b) iii) accented PN (especially in the bass) 6. Leading notes (at cadence) : The leading note falls at the cadence, when it is in the inner parts (alto or tenor), to give a complete final chord. 7. Chord prolongation: Repeating a chord, even with change of inversion, from a weak beat to a strong beat. (Only exception is anacrusis at start of phrase) 8. Bass prolongation: Repeating a bass note from a weak beat to a strong beat, even if the chord changes. (Only exception is anacrusis at start of phrase) Referece: https://quizlet.com/gb/277839584/bach-chorale-rules-stylistic-features-flash-cards/
